New initiative will enable more connected fan experiences at sports events with integrated e-commerce functionalities

Sportian, the sports division of Globant, today announced it is enabling the digital payments platform from Zig, a Global Funtech, on select products to streamline transactions and data collection around major sports events.

The partnership will see the integration of Zig's payments and consumption tools into Sportian's Maker, a CMS platform used by dozens of clubs around the world to build applications, websites and fan journeys.

Adding Zig’s complementary offering will help Sportian’s clients maintain a consistent fan experience that extends from home to stadium, while enabling new cashless payment experiences. Through automating transactions and data collection, the collaboration will allow sports organizations to speed up payment processes and offer a broader range of purchasing options through digital platforms.

Zig’s platform, known for offering a comprehensive suite of technological solutions, including digital and cashless payments, digital ordering, and advanced management tools, will now allow millions of sports fans the chance to purchase merchandise, or in-stadium food and beverages without leaving their club’s official app. The system ensures swift, seamless transactions while providing real-time data analytics that can help club users make more informed decisions.

“Working with Zig helps us accelerate the connected digital journey that we are building around sports events,”

said Lucas Juri, Chief Business Officer of Sportian.

“Our vision is for all access, communication, content and transactions to be managed through a single ecosystem, with Maker providing this single super-app experience for fans.”

Sportian’s Maker platform, used by over 35 LALIGA clubs as well as organizations across Europe and the Americas, is designed to support the creation of modern applications and websites for sports, with a central CMS that offers content management, fan engagement, and event management features, including digital access.

The integration of Zig’s payment solutions will add an extra layer of functionality, enabling clubs to manage payments of food & beverage and merchandise more efficiently, while gathering actionable data to improve fan experiences both on and off the field.

“At Zig, we are committed to redefining the digital payment experience in live entertainment and sports,”

said Bruno Lindoso, CEO International at Zig.

“By joining forces with Sportian, we are bringing our expertise in seamless, data-driven payments to some of the world’s leading sports organizations, helping them elevate the fan experience and maximize their commercial potential.”
